The good news? A professional spray tan should look natural, flawless, and completely tailored to YOU.

At Yoo Spray Tanning, every tan is customised to your skin tone, undertone, event, and desired result - whether you want a subtle bridal glow, deep holiday colour, flawless photoshoot skin, or a rich bodybuilding tan.

So… if you’re wondering what actually happens at your appointment, here’s everything you can expect.

Before Your Appointment

Preparation really does make a huge difference to how your tan develops and fades.

For best results:

🤎 Exfoliate well 24 hours before your appointment

🤎 Avoid moisturiser, deodorant, makeup and perfume on the day

🤎 Wear loose dark clothing to your appointment

🤎 Shave or wax at least 24 hours beforehand

🤎 Arrive with clean, dry skin

If you haven’t had a professional spray tan in the last 6 months, or you have particularly sensitive skin, a quick patch test may be recommended beforehand just to make sure your skin is happy with the solution.

Your Consultation

Every appointment starts with a consultation.

This is one of the most important parts of the process and honestly… one of the reasons professional spray tans look SO different to DIY tans or cheaper “one colour fits all” tans.

We’ll chat about:

✨ Your skin tone and undertones

✨ Whether you naturally tan warm, cool or neutral

✨ Your event or occasion

✨ How dark you’d like to… or realistically can go based on your skin tone and undertones

✨ Whether you’d prefer a Classic 8 hour tan or a Rapid tan

✨ Any previous tanning experiences or concerns

This is how I customise the tan specifically to you to create the most natural, flattering result possible.

What Do You Wear During a Spray Tan?

Whatever you feel comfortable in 🤎

Most clients choose to wear disposable underwear, dark underwear, swimwear, or go topless for the most seamless results.

There is absolutely no judgement here - after many years of spray tanning, I promise I’ve seen it all 😆

Under 18s must have a parent or guardian present during the appointment.

During the Spray Tan

The tanning itself usually takes around 10-15 minutes.

The solution is professionally applied using a spray tanning gun inside my private studio space. Your tan is applied evenly and carefully blended to suit your body shape and skin tone.

I’ll guide you through simple positions throughout the appointment so you never feel awkward wondering what to do with your arms 🤣

Every tan is finished with luxury finishing powder which helps reduce tackiness, improves comfort, and is especially helpful during warmer weather.

Will I Be Orange?

Honestly… no 😅

Professional spray tanning has come a LONG way over the years.

At Yoo, solutions are selected carefully based on your undertones and desired result. The right base colour combined with the correct depth is what creates a natural looking tan rather than an orange result.

This is why proper consultation and professional products matter so much.

After Your Appointment

Depending on your chosen tan, you’ll rinse after either:

✨ 1-4 hours for most Rapid tans

✨ Around 8 hours for Classic tans

Your first rinse should be lukewarm water only - no soap, shower gel or scrubbing.

Your tan will continue developing over the next 12-24 hours and will usually last around 7-10 days with good aftercare.

To keep your tan looking its best:

🤎 Moisturise daily

🤎 Avoid harsh exfoliants and oil based products

🤎 Pat skin dry after showering

🤎 Avoid very long hot baths and excessive chlorine exposure
